A wide view of the Golden Gate Bridge facing West from the observation point at the visitor's center. Surfers can be seen dotted below. This photograph captured in February, 2000 was taken by Jim Epler during the winter in San Francisco, CA at the observation deck near the visitor's center. It is cataloged under the terms architecture, landscapes & vistas, landmarks and coastal views in this photography database.

The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak GOLD 200 color film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a Asahi Pentax 28mm f/3.5 lens.

Photographer Comments: I found it amazing that there were people in the water on this day, even with wet suits, because of how cold it was this February afternoon. These guys were hard-core, for sure! They look like little dots but you can tell by the white caps that they were catching some decent breaks.

Additionally, Jim thought of search words that someone might use to locate this picture including the terms surfers, Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, surfing and San Francisco, so he included these on this page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this free photograph!
