| An interesting historical sign marking a Southern parish church that was a scene of early missionary work "among the negroes." This photograph captured in April, 1997 was taken by Jim Epler in the spring in Charleston, SC at St. Andrews Parish Church outside the city. It is cataloged under the terms objects, countryside views, rural scenes and signs & symbols in this photography database. The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak GOLD 200 color film stock using a Kodak point and shoot camera with a lens. Photographer Comments: I passed by this church every morning on my way to Schroeder Elementary School when I was working as an Executive Director for a corporate educational company. I felt it typified the South in so many ways? beautiful but unnerving at the same time. |
